Dan Werb. (Canadá). Researcher, BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, Canadá, and Research Coordinator, International Centre for Science in Drug Policy.

He is a researcher at the Urban Health Research Initiative of the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. There he works with data on vulnerable drug-using populations in Vancouver’s downtown eastside.

Dan is also the Research Coordinator for the International Centre for Science in Drug Policy, an international network of scientists working towards bridging the gap between scientific evidence and current drug policies.

Dan’s current research focuses on issues surrounding illicit drug market participation, the prevention and cessation of injection drug use, and the effect of drug law enforcement on public health. Dan is a former research fellow at the Senlis Council, a European drug policy lobby group, and has worked as a journalist reporting on drug policy and public health.

He is the recipient of research awards from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research.
