Intercambios, civil association dedicated to the study and assistance of drug related problems, is a non-governmental organization founded in the city of Buenos Aires in 1995.

Intercambios’ mission is to use the basic precepts of human rights to shape the construction and application of knowledge about drug use and drug related problems.

Intercambios believes that stigmatization and discrimination against drug users and drug use often leads to violations of human rights. For this reason, Intercambios suscribes the ethical perspective of human rights defense, social commitment, and scientific rigor.

Intercambios’ three primary areas of work are Investigation, Intervention, and Advocacy.

Intercambios is a key organization in Latin America working with  harm reduction and drug policy issues. Intercambios develops advocacy, research, distributes information, and strengthens capacities, networking with other regional organizations with the goal of influencing governmental and multilateral drug policies’ approach.
