Robert Paulino

robert_paulino_0Medical Doctor, Dr. Paulino is currently a research professor specializing in microbiology, molecular genetics, and tropical medicine at the Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic (UNIBE). His research interests are in HIV pathogenesis, principally in vulnerable populations,  and co-infections with emerging viruses and opportunistic microorganisms. His research projects have been funded by JSI, MAC AIDS Fund, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He received his medical training at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, completed a post-doc in Molecular Virology at the Michigan State University, and clinical management of HIV training at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Paulino also a member of the American Society of Microbiology, the International Society for Infectious Diseases, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the International AIDS Society and the American Association for HIV Medicine.
