araceli330Mexican by birth, she currently is the representative of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States in the Dominican Republic. She previously served as Coordinator of the areas of Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration of Offenders and Care and Protection of Victims of Violence Generation Organized Crime in the Department of Public Security, Secretariat for Multidimensional Security of the OAS. Prior to this position was Program Coordinator for Migration and Development (MEAS) of the OAS, since the inception of the program in September 2008 to October 2012. She also was in charge of the Technical Secretariat of the Working Group Program Inter for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights of Migrants, including Migrant Workers and their Families of the Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs and the Special Committee on Migration Issues (CEAM), both Committees of the Permanent Council of the OAS . Among her accomplishments during her tenure in these positions, are the development and implementation of the Continuous Reporting System on International Migration in the Americas -SICREMI, the database Migration Legislation in the Americas (MILEX), interactive map of Programs Temporary Employment for Migrant Workers (MINPET) and four publications resulting from the work of the Special Committee on Migration Issues: “the Return of Migrants. Challenges and Opportunities “,” Extracontinental Migration in the Americas, “” Learning from Experiences: Horizontal Cooperation for Migration Management “and” Migration and Social Security in the Americas “. As a specialist on immigration has been a speaker and participant in numerous conferences and seminars. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the magazine “Migration Policy Practice”, published by Eurasylum and the International Organization for Migration.

Prior to joining the OAS in 2006, she held various positions in the Mexican government, at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States where she worked on representations of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture and also in the private sector where she was Director of Human Resources of the multinational company, Kone Elevators- Mexico for over 10 years.

Held the position of State Coordinator of the Population and Housing Census and the Economic and Livestock Census in the State of Veracruz, Mexico, was co-owner of the consulting firm Macro Economic Consulting, S.A. of C.V. and carried out teaching and research activities at the Universidad Veracruzana, where she is a graduate of the career of Economics. She earned the title of Master in Public Administration at the Center for Economic Research and Teaching, -CIDE in Mexico City.
