Equis: Justice for Women
is a feminist organization that contributes to the exercise of women’s human rights through access to strategies of justice, advocacy on public policy proposals and the strengthening of leadership to achieve social justice. Since its inception in 2010, the organization has closely followed the movement for drug policy reform, in recognition of the fact that it is a crosscutting issue that promotes inequalities for access to justice in the country. It has provided an intersectional view of the problem, analyzing how and in which way current drug policies affect people differently according to their identity and conditions of vulnerability. Through research and advocacy campaigns, Equis: Justice for Women has made perceivable the issue of drug policy reform at all levels of government, emphasizing the challenges of the problem from a gender perspective.
