The book “Latin American debate on drugs” will be presented

The book brings together current discussions of over thirty scholars and government officials on the consequences of the war on drugs, law reform and health treatments. It will be presented on Tuesday, September 13, at 5:45 pm in the Salon Mexico of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dakota No. 95, Colonia Nápoles, México DF.

As part of the Third Latin American Conference on Drug Policy, on Tuesday, September 13 at 5:45 pm, there will be a public presentation of the book “Latin American debate on drugs,” a work that brings together expertise from the two previous Latin American Conferences (Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro), as compiled by Intercambios Civil Association of Argentina.

Articles and writing by experts , which participated in both meetings, are organized around the main axes of current discussion on the issue: the current paradigm and its alternatives, legislative reforms, the consequences of the war on drugs, attention to users and the international context, as well as some others.

With its´ objective to contribute to the discussion and promote the circulation of opinions, “Latin American debate on drugs” is a valuable tool for those who wish to deepen their knowledge and, also is an essential reference when dealing with the issue of drugs and media with a comprehensive look on the issue.

Graciela Touzé, the president of Intercambios Asociación Civil, the organization which administered the creating of the book as well as the Latin American meetings, will be presenting the book, while Coletta Youngers, senior adviser to the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), is responsible for the comments.
