Roberto Calzadilla Sarmiento. Ambassador of the Multinational State of Bolivia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Bachelor’s in Sociology from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, La Paz, Bolivia, and Master’s in International Relations at Webster University Saint Louis, Vienna, Austria.  He completed his thesis on the role of international cooperation in policies regarding the replacement of coca leaf crops.

Some of the positions he has held include the Bolivian Ambassador to Portugal (2007-2011), General Director of Bilateral Relations, MRREE Bolivia (2005-2007), Bolivian Prime Minister in London MRREE Bolivia (2000-2005), General Director of Industrial Relations MRREE Bolivia (1988-2000), Director of Summits MRREE Bolivia, Consultant and Official of the United Nations in Vienna in the Program for the Control of Drugs (UNDCP) (1992-1994), Deputy Chief of Bolivia in Germany (Bonn) Switzerland Berna (1994-1997), Counselor in the Permanent Mission of Bolivia in Vienna, Austria (1988-1992), and since 1983 he has held different positions in the MRREE in La Paz in the economic, political, bilateral, and multilateral sections.

Lic. Roberto Calzadilla Sarmiento is a Member of the Bolivian Center of International Relations and a Member of the Bolivian Society of Sociology, as well as a Professor of the Diplomatic Academy of Bolivia.

Committed to the defense of the traditional use of the coca leaf, he has participated in multiple international conferences regarding drug policy.
